Your privacy matters on Premshetu. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website, mobile app, wallet, calls, and matchmaking tools — and how we use, store, share, and protect it. It should be read with our Terms of Service.
1. Introduction
This policy applies to personal data processed by Premshetu Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in connection with the Premshetu Service in India and wherever we make the Service available.
We process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and other applicable Indian law.
2. Who controls your data
The data fiduciary (controller) is:
Premshetu Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
Email: support@premshetu.com
If we use processors (hosting, payments, analytics, communications), they act on our instructions under contract.
3. Information we collect
Account and profile
- Name, email, phone number, date of birth, gender and preferences;
- Photos, bio, interests, relationship goals, and other profile details you choose to add;
- Identity or photo verification data if you complete verification (for example a selfie check).
Matching, chat, and calls
- Likes, passes, matches, and compatibility signals;
- Messages, voice notes, and media you send in chat;
- Call metadata (who called whom, time, duration, call type, coins deducted);
- Optional notes you share with our AI matchmaker or a human match advisor.
We do not routinely record the audio or video of live calls. We may retain limited technical logs and, where you report abuse, relevant snippets or stills if our safety tools capture them. Do not assume a call is private from the other participant — they may record on their own device.
Location
If you allow it, we collect precise or approximate location to show nearby members and improve matching. You can turn location off in device settings; some discovery features may then be limited.
Payments and wallet
- Coin balance, purchase history, pack selected, and transaction timestamps;
- Limited billing details from payment partners (UPI, cards, Paytm, PhonePe, Apple, Google) such as payment status and a masked identifier — not your full card number when they process the charge.
Device and usage
- IP address, device type, OS, app version, language, crash logs;
- Pages and screens you visit, buttons you tap, and approximate session times;
- Cookies and similar technologies on the website (see Cookies below).
Support and safety
If you contact us or report a member, we keep the report, related messages or profile snapshots, and our response. We may also receive information from other users or authorities about possible harm or fraud.
4. How we use it
We use personal data to:
- create and secure your account, and show your profile to other members;
- power matching, recommendations, chat, voice/video calls, and coin billing;
- process payments, prevent fraud, and keep wallet history;
- moderate the community (AI + human review) and enforce our Terms;
- provide customer support and match-advisor help;
- send service messages (receipts, security alerts, product updates);
- improve the Service, fix bugs, and understand which features work;
- comply with law and defend legal claims.
Marketing emails or push notifications about offers are sent only where you have opted in or where law allows. You can opt out of non-essential marketing at any time in settings or via the unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.
5. AI matching and advisors
Premshetu uses machine learning to suggest profiles, rank compatibility, and (if you use it) converse with an AI matchmaker. That processing uses profile data, preferences you type, and patterns such as who you like or message.
Human match advisors only see what they need to help you (typically your stated preferences and relevant profile context). Do not share bank OTPs, government IDs, or other people’s private data in AI or advisor chats.
Automated suggestions can be wrong. They do not replace your judgment, and they are not a credit, employment, or legal decision about you.
6. When we share it
We share personal data only as needed:
- Other members — public profile fields, and messages or calls you choose to send;
- Service providers — cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, SMS/email, payment gateways, and app stores, under confidentiality and security terms;
- Professional advisors and authorities — if required by law, court order, or to protect someone’s safety, investigate fraud, or enforce our Terms;
- Business transfers — if we merge, sell, or reorganise, data may transfer to the successor under this policy or equivalent protections.
App Store and Google Play purchases are also governed by Apple’s and Google’s privacy practices.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above:
- account and profile data: while your account is active, then a short period after deletion unless law requires longer;
- messages and call metadata: for the life of the conversation or account, and a limited time after for safety and disputes;
- payment and coin records: as required for tax, accounting, and chargeback handling (typically several years);
- safety reports: as long as reasonably needed to protect users and meet legal duties.
When we no longer need data, we delete or irreversibly anonymise it.
8. Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to a dating platform, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong unique password, enable device lock, and never share OTPs.
Chat is designed to be transmitted securely. Other members can still copy, screenshot, or forward what you send them.
9. Your rights
Subject to the DPDP Act and other law, you may:
- access a summary of personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (this may limit features);
- request erasure of your account and personal data, with exceptions for legal, safety, or billing records;
- nominate someone to exercise rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity, where the law provides for it;
- grieve to us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied.
You can update much of your profile in the app. For access, correction, or deletion, use in-app settings or email support@premshetu.com. We may need to verify it is you before we act. We will respond within the time the law requires.
Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account. Use account deletion in settings or contact support.
10. Cookies and analytics
Our website may use essential cookies (to keep the site working) and optional analytics cookies (to understand traffic and improve pages). You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect site features. Mobile apps use similar identifiers and SDKs for crash reporting and product analytics.
11. Children
Premshetu is strictly for people 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that someone under 18 has registered, we will delete the account and related data. If you believe a minor is using the Service, write to support@premshetu.com.
12. Transfers
We primarily process data in India. Some vendors may store or access data in other countries. Where we do so, we take steps required by applicable law so that your data remains protected.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The new version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may also notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after the update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
14. Contact and grievances
